.....NEW CHANGES ARE PLANNED....
Yes. 2012 will hopefully see quite a shift in how we operate as a company in the way we make our shirts and the cost of them too.
firstly, our plan is to use a process of manufacture that removes all earth damaging photo-emulsions and incorporate 100 % natural dyes. Additionally we aim to print on USED tees instead of soucing new ones. We hope this will greatly reduce the price of our shirts and more importantly our carbon footprint. In fact we are pretty sure that if this gets pulled off then we'll be the greenest t shirt company on earth.
Copylight is a Japanese silk-screen T-Shirt company that puts the environment and gaijin-inspired だじゃれ above all else. We love Japan, speling mistakes and whatever get's roast in translation. Japanese born and bled, all our shirts come with a free sense of self bewilderment and national psychosis. Contrary to our likes, we abhor the maniacal cement production and the public apathy regarding this concrete assault on the coastline, the riverbeds and mountainsides. We are vexed by the superfluous breeding program of vending machines that runs a parallel line with Dick's 1st law of kipple. Basically we really feel that the world needs more Terence Mckennaheads and less 100円 shops.
The Shirt
Every shirt we assault is wrung out by hand and thus being one-offs they’re slightly different each time. We are a company that does everything in-house, from idea to squeegee it’s all shirts and giggles. Using Continental Clothing’s sustainable organic bamboo and cotton fabrics as well as printing with non-phosphate, water-based inks free of substances you’ve either worn in the past or wearing right now.
Such chemicals include PVC, Phthalates, Organo-Tin Compounds, Restricted Aromatic Amines, Heavy Metals, PCP, APEO, Poly-Chlorinated Biphenyls and pesticides amongst others. Both shirts come in white only and aren’t heavy, in fact they are exceedingly light, porous.
Regarding washing
Slight fading of the print will occur after the first wash due to our eco-inks but we think it looks cool and actually increases the soft hand of the print. We get people asking if the eco-ink will mess up the design. No, it won’t run because it’s been heat-sealed by us – it’ll just give a very slight initial fade and grow with you as you wear it more.
